กรุงเทพมหานครได้เริ่มขยายตัวจากริมฝั่งแม่น้ำเจ้าพระยาตั้งแต่ช่วงต้นของศตวรรษที่ 19 และจนถึงทุกวันนี้ ชาวยุโรปได้กลายเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของการเติบโตของกรุงเทพมหานคร สหภาพยุโรปร่วมกับ The Cloud เชิญทุกท่านร่วมค้นหาเรื่องราวอันเป็นเอกลักษณ์ของอาคารประวัติศาสตร์ในกรุงเทพฯ เหล่านี้ผ่านทั้ง 4 วิดีโอ

Europe in Thailand: take an architectonic journey through the heritage buildings of Bangkok
At the start of the 19 th Century, Bangkok expanded from the banks of the Chao Phraya. Since then and still today, Europeans have helped to build the city.Through a series of four videos, the European Union and The Cloud Magazine uncover unique aspects of historic buildings of Bangkok. This walk through history reminds us of the long friendship and collaboration of Thailand and European countries. It also shows that heritage must be preserved for Bangkok to keep growing as a sustainable city.
Witthayu, Silom, and Sathorn were once paddy fields and farmlands, but as Bangkok expanded, they transformed into the central business districts of Thailand. The Cloud and the European Union bring you to visit three Ambassadors’ Residences, heritage sites in the midst of condominiums and offices. The Dutch Residence is surrounded by vast amounts of green space and environmentally friendly projects, the elegant Residence of Belgian Ambassador remains as charming as a century ago, and the Italian Residence is a great example of the transitional period from classic architecture to the art deco style in Bangkok.
These fine homes and gardens stand as the representation of urban evolution of Bangkok and represents 150 years of friendship between Thailand and Europe.
