โปรเจกต์นี้เราคิดไว้ตั้งแต่ปี 4 เทอมหนึ่งและคิดว่าท้าทาย เพราะปกติเราถ่ายแต่ผู้หญิง แต่ครั้งนี้ได้ออกจากเซฟโซนตัวเองลองมาถ่ายผู้ชายดูบ้าง เราคิดว่าอัตลักษณ์ทางเพศและรสนิยมทางเพศไม่ควรเป็นข้อจำกัดในการแต่งกาย ผู้คนส่วนใหญ่ในสังคมมักกำหนดรูปแบบการแต่งกาย ที่แสดงเพศสภาพสําหรับผู้ชายและผู้หญิงไว้อย่างชัดเจน ทำให้การออกแบบเสื้อผ้าทั้ง Pattern & Detail ของผู้ชายและผู้หญิงแสดงอัตลักษณ์แตกต่างกันอย่างสิ้นเชิง แม้เป็นความคิดที่ปลูกฝังมาตั้งแต่กำเนิดและยาวนาน หากแต่ปัจจุบัน เมื่อยุคสมัยเปลี่ยนไป ไลฟ์สไตล์และรสนิยมของผู้คนเองก็เปลี่ยนตาม
เครื่องแต่งกายจึงเป็นเหมือนสัญลักษณ์หรือภาพลักษณ์ที่สร้างความมั่นใจ ในการแสดงตัวตนของผู้คนในปัจจุบันออกมา ซึ่งสังคมไม่ควรตัดสินหรือจํากัดสิทธิในการแสดงตัวตนเหล่านั้น เพียงเพราะเพศสภาพ
ผลงานการถ่ายภาพแฟชั่นนี้ เราคาดหวังให้สังคมเปิดกว้างมากขึ้นในเรื่องการแต่งกายของผู้ชายด้วยเสื้อผ้าของผู้หญิง โดยที่ไม่ต้องมีข้อกำหนดหรือกําแพงมาขว้างกั้นจากอดีต ตั้งแต่ยุคประวัติศาสตร์แฟชั่น เสื้อผ้าระหว่างผู้ชายกับผู้หญิงก็ไม่ได้ถูกแบ่งแยกอย่างชัดเจนมานานแล้ว ผู้คนในสังคมต่างตีกรอบกันไปเองว่าเพศไหนต้องใส่อะไร และไม่ว่าจะเพศสภาพไหน เรื่องของรสนิยมการแต่งกาย ก็ไม่สามารถบ่งบอกเพศสภาพได้อย่างแท้จริงและชัดเจน
เราจึงอยากให้คนเปิดกว้างมากขึ้น หวังว่าหัวข้อนี้จะช่วยให้ทุกคนได้สนุกกับการแต่งกายและกล้าแสดงออกสไตล์และรสนิยมของตัวเองมากขึ้น
Most people in society have clearly defined gender-specific clothing for men and women. The clothing designs, patterns, and details of men’s and women’s clothes represent completely different identities. Even though it is an idea that has been cultivated long ago, the time has changed, lifestyle and people’s tastes have changed accordingly. Attire, therefore, is like a symbol that builds confidence as it helps express the identity of the wearers. People should not be judged or restrained from their rights to express themselves just because there are invisible boundaries constantly separating them.
In this photography project, I expect society to be more open to men dressing in women’s clothes and to eliminate all restrictions or boundaries towards how one is supposed to dress. From the past, fashion records between men and women have not been clearly divided. However, people in society somehow define the appropriateness of what each gender is supposed to wear by themselves. To the best of my knowledge, regardless of gender, a matter of clothing is not the only thing that clearly identifies or segregates genders.
